The Charing Cross Theatre’s season of musicals continues with Ragtime, the Tony Award-winning musical by Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty. Directed by the venue’s artistic director Thom Southerland, the actor-musician cast is led by Earl Carpenter (The Phantom of the Opera, Les Misérables) and Anita Louise Combe (Gypsy, Chicago). Press night is tonight, October 17, and the production will run until December 10.
Based on E L Doctorow’s novel of the same name, Ragtime follows three New York communities at the turn of the 20th century, with fictional characters interweaving with real-life figures including Emma Goldman and Harry Houdini.
